Company History
The history of palisadoes-llc (as a company doing business in Illinois) dates back to 1991, when H. C. Williams endeavored to provide quality housing in a multifamily building in Evanston. Mr. Williams owned and resided in a 3-flat in Chicago's Rogers Park area, and saw an opportunity to earn "sweat equity" in a second holding that was approximately eight blocks away. Though the two holdings were sold, the valuable lessons learned and values displayed planted seeds that would germinate many years in the future.
In 2006, B. A. Williams purchased a SFR in Munster, Indiana, assuming that was all the property he would be able to afford and maintain. However, in 2007, Mr. Williams saw the collapsing housing market not as a discouragement from the real estate market, but as a unique opportunity to enter the real estate market as a landlord. The premise was simple - if, by faith, we navigate the new frontier of property rehabilitation, have patience to deal with the occasional undesirable tenant and weather the storm of the current market conditions, then at the other side of the downturn, the investment would maintain it's market value and profitable. The "anchor" for palisadoes-llc was a four-flat in Chicago's west Hyde Park neighborhood, located through the efforts of Realtor Marki Lemons. The property, purchased in the fall of 2008, required expert financing (provided through Jay Boetscher at Legend Mortgage and then David Whitacre at Prospect Mortgage) and, after an eighteen month rehab process, the required repairs were completed and all four rental units were rented. When relocated to Ohio to pursue a management opportunity within BP in 2018, both properties were sold and a SFR was purchased in Ottawa Hills, OH. In 2022, a SFR was purchased in the Miller area of Gary Indiana. In 2023, an vacant lot adjacent to the SFR was bid upon during the Lake County Tax Sale. Using a tax attorney, the tax certificate was not redeemed, and was converted to a tax deed.
In 2010, another opportunity presented itself for the company to acquire another asset. Through tireless searching of the available Chicagoland real estate with a steadfast Realtor (Eve Benton), Mr. Williams found a quaint SFR in west South Shore. The financing of this property was provided by Park Federal Savings Bank, and the finishing of the basement space was completed by Handyman construction.
In 2012, participation in the Cook County Scavenger Tax Sale afforded the opportunity to purchase a tax certificate for a vacant lot in the Oakland neighborhood in Chicago. Using a tax attorney, the tax certificate was not redeemed, and was converted to a tax deed. In 2018, this property was sold to an adjoining homeowner for a significant profit; this was invested into ORRI leases in oil and gas-producing properties in the eastern part of Ohio.
In 2024, when relocated back to Northwest Indiana to pursue another management opportunity within BP, the Ohio residence was sold and, after paying off the Miller residence, the remaining proceeds were re-invested into purchasing a second SFR in the Miller area of Gary Indiana. Brent Sherman offered sage advice throughout the process and his "know-how" of the market identified the best opportuntiy in the price range desired.
palisadoes-llc was formed in 2009 to hold all real estate properties and continues to look for "that next opportunity" that will enhance the company's equity position long-term and will be profitable in the short-term.

What Are "palisadoes"?
Pal-i-sa-do [pal-uh-sey-doh]noun, plural -does, verb (used with object), -doed, -doing. Palisadoes (word apparently of Portuguese origin) is the thin spit of sand that serves as a natural protection for the harbor of Kingston, Jamaica. This area served as an inspiration for Henry C. Williams upon his first visit to Jamaica. It is the hope that these assets will provide financial stability for future generations of the Williams family, so the company name is still relevant today.
Meaning Behind "Pyramid and Arch" (TM) Logo of Palisadoes-LLC
The distinctive logo for palisadoes-llc was inspired by two of the most unique forms in architecture: the pyramid and arch. Bringing the elements together to combine in the form of a capital "P" was the inspiration of B. A. Williams in 2010. The "pyramid and arch" (TM) logo now serves as the banner that represents the company.

Sound Theme for Palisadoes-LLC (TM)
The sound theme for palisadoes-llc was an adaptation inspired many years ago when B. A. Williams heard a brief tympani solo during a symphony in grammar school. The trumpet portion was added in 2009 and has served as the sound theme for the company since palisadoes-llc's inception.
